WHO IS MAY MORNING?
Michael Myers
FOUNDER
There’s an oversaturation of photographers and filmmakers in the world. What makes us any different?
Today, there is an over-saturated market of videographers and photographers. This presents a challenge when choosing the right studio to capture the moments that are the most important to you. At May Morning Studios, we go beyond beautiful photography and videography. At the core, we are all about celebrating the most important moments in your life. Whether it be your wedding, your child’s graduation, or a special family event, we allow you to be fully present in these moments rather than worrying about capturing them for later.
This is more than our job - it’s our greatest passion. We work diligently to get to know our clients, so we can do more than just capture the day, but to tell a story about who you are and the journey that has led you to where you are. Owner, Michael Myers, has served clients for ten years, and hundreds of clients. Through May Morning Studios, he lives his purpose by capturing love, championing healthy relationships, and celebrating life.
What does ‘May Morning’ mean? People often ask us that. The name was inspired by the beautiful poem penned by Christopher Marlowe, The Passionate Shepherd to His Love. It’s about love. It’s about romance. It’s about passion. It’s about everything that binds two lovers together:
THE PASSIONATE SHEPHERD TO HIS LOVE
Come live with me and be my love,
And we will all the pleasures prove,
That Valleys, groves, hills, and fields,
Woods, or steepy mountain yields.
And we will sit upon the Rocks,
Seeing the Shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow Rivers to whose falls
Melodious birds sing Madrigals.
And I will make thee beds of Roses
And a thousand fragrant posies,
A cap of flowers, and a kirtle
Embroidered all with leaves of Myrtle;
A gown made of the finest wool
Which from our pretty
Lambs we pull;
Fair lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of the purest gold;
A belt of straw and Ivy buds,
With Coral clasps and Amber studs:
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me, and be my love.
The Shepherds’ Swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May-morning:
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me, and be my love.
